Sunset and Sunrise

Saddle Tor and Rippon Tor

Saddle Tor at sunset

Jennifer and I are away for some photography and culinary experiences in Vietnam. Meanwhile I have set up my computer to publish a few images that I haven’t done before. This is from the eastern part of Dartmoor, where I revisited Saddle Tor for some sunset images, and the next morning I was back at nearby Rippon Tor for some sunrise images. Saddle and Rippon Tor are close to each other and also to Haytor, which figures prominently in images from both Saddle and Rippon Tor.

Climbing up to Rippon Tor (which is one of the tallest on Dartmoor, but with a very gentle incline) I felt very tired and coming back home I tested positive for Covid, so the images were left untouched on my computer, while I recovered. But now I decided to publish them, while in Asia.

Looking east from Saddle Tor at sunset. It is the distinctive form of Haytor that we are looking at.
The next morning I was back at nearby Rippon Tor at sunrise. The sun is rising over the sea and below the image of the sun is Teignmouth. Just to the right of the sun you can see the mouth of the river Teign
And after the sun had risen I turned the camera to the northeast. Again we can see Haytor in the distance and halfway between Haytor and the camera is Saddle Tor slightly to the left of Haytor
