When Jennifer studied in Manila she lived with Paolo’s parents and Paolo and his parents and two sisters have remained very good friends to Jennifer ever since. He and his girlfriend since five years got married on Saturday 6 February just outside Manila. They had 280 guests for a sumptuous dinner party afterwards. Both Paolo and Jona are dentists.
The traditional Filipino dress for men is the Barong Tagalog, an elegant silk shirt that replaces the jacket we would wear in a colder Western climate. And the bride and groom were accompanied by not less than 12 “sponsors” that take responsibility for the newlyweds, more emotionally than materially. Jennifer was one such sponsor.
