Eric was baptized at the Swedish Church in London by Michael Persson. His wife, Camilla, was one of the godmothers. The other godmother was Florence Hands that now live in Spain and Portugal but at that time still lived in London. Eric had two godfathers as well, both from Sweden. It was Sigge Sigurdsson, an orphopaedic surgeon from Stockholm that had been sailing with us around Cape Horn and then Lars Lind’s son, Karl-Johan.
After the Christening we had a reception at the Swedish Hall at the church and at night we had hired Mosimanns for a dinner and some entertainment. And the next day we went down to Devon for a blessing at Knightstone. We had a marquis over the courtyard for the blessing service and then we had dinner at another marquis in the rose garden. What a celebration for little Eric Gregory!
