Eric’s birthday parties had already become a tradition. It was more of a social occasion for our friends and us with the ice cream man on his bicycle, the lunch in the courtyard, the assault course, the magician that entertained both young and old. It offered an opportunity for us to meet up with all our friends and to say thanks for the wonderful ways we were received by the local community in East Devon.
