Birds of Masai Mara

Malachite Kingfisher, a river bird found near the Mara river

We came to Masai Mara to encounter the exciting predators and the herds of zebras, wildebeests, elephants and hippos, but we also saw some beautiful birds. Some of them I have shown in the previous post about the life around the river Mara, but here I add a few more of our colourful friends.

Lilac-breasted roller. Widely distributed in sub saharan Africa.
Ostriches
As the night came the moon helped us to get back to camp and we saw this owl high up in a tree. I thought that was a suitable image to finish this little rhapsody of birds
