Birds of Masai Mara

We came to Masai Mara to encounter the exciting predators and the herds of zebras, wildebeests, elephants and hippos, but we also saw some beautiful birds. Some of them I have shown in the previous post about the life around the river Mara, but here I add a few more of our colourful friends.

To the left is a Vulture. Wherever a predator had killed an animal, a vulture was nearby ready to eat the remains. And to the right are two Southern Ground Hornbills. They live a lot on the ground but the sleep in trees during the night.

Ostriches

As the night came the moon helped us to get back to camp and we saw this owl high up in a tree. I thought that was a suitable image to finish this little rhapsody of birds
