Creepie Crawlies

A stick insect

Walking in the dry forests in south Madagascar, I would never have been able to spot all the tiny little creatures that lived among the trees or crawled on the forest floor among the dry leaves. But without much ado, I just share a few of my photos of this miniature world. These insects best defence is the fact that they look so similar to their surroundings.

Here the same insect moved out from the tree a little bit and is much easier to see
These are large ladybugs, obviously enjoying some company with their cousins
And these are pupas of an insect I don’t know anything about. But they are so colourful that they deserve to be included in my post
And finally a snake hiding under a tree on our walk. There are no venomous snakes in Madagascar, so I dared move the branches and capture the snake
