Northern Norway

With M/S Grace along the coast of northern Norway in 2014

Eric, Jennifer and I were invited for a week of sailing aboard M/S Grace, a most beautiful classic motor yacht. She was owned and captained by Henk Koster. We started in Bodø in Lofoten, northern Norway, and continued even further north and northeast along the coast and among the islands until we reached Tromsø, where we departed.

The voyage that took place a  week after midsummer, so the sun was above the horizon 24 hours a day, and as the weather was nice, we were blessed with sunshine nearly all the time.

Several photos are from Lofoten and the island of Tranøy the lovely outlying island of Senja and the skerries further out. The snow-covered mountains in the background from some of the first pictures are the “Lofoten Wall” – the mountainous islands that protect a large part of this coast from the worst of the north Atlantics seas and winds.
