Reine

Views from Reinehalsen with the village to the right and the mountains towering above

Reine in Lofoten is just a few kilometres away from Hamnøya and Sakrisøya, where I posted my previous posts from Lofoten. It is a small village with only around 300 inhabitants, and most people you see are tourists that come because of the views and the walks. It is a traditional fishing village and was a trading post in the 18th century. But it is most famous for its views with mountain tops surrounding it on three sides and the sea visible wherever you are.

The little village had a couple of nice shops and a pub but above all, a charming restaurant, Gammelbua, the red little house to the right at the right image below here.
