I woke up at Inverlochy Castle as the first sun-rays lit up the hills in the background, and the mist still covered the valley below in its blanket.

My photographic odyssey to the Scottish Highlands took place in 2010. Very different from the seascapes and sailing adventures I photographed 2005-07 and the desert landscape of the Colorado Plateau in Utah and Arizona in 2009. I wrote about my experiences in two articles, “Glimpses from the Highlands” and a shorter version that was published in the magazine Essential Marbella called “Rugged Beauty”. I recommend reading one of those articles together with watching the images in the gallery above (by clicking on the links here or looking them up in the Books and Articles tab).
