I love photographing water. From stormy seas to calm reflective lakes, from tiny rapids to huge waterfalls. But I think I am more attracted to the small scale opportunities. A few leaves floating in a little backwater pond. And in New England in the fall season, the potpourri of colours combined with the rushing water led me to today’s heading: Water & Fall.
The first images are from near Warren, where we stayed the first three nights. A tiny village with a store, where you can buy everything from a flashlight or a sweater to a flashy souvenir or today’s lunch. And opposite is Pitcher Inn, where we stayed the first time in 2007 and now came back15 years later. And near Warren are Warren Falls, a series of small waterfalls in the Mad River (image above) and also Moss Glen Falls at Deer Hollow Brook just before it meets Alder Meadow Brook (image below). I was out in the morning, while Jennifer still was asleep and came back in time for the two of us to have breakfast together.
The next two images are from Bingham Falls, northeast of Stowe in northern Vermont. A series of smaller rapids followed by a larger fall into a circular pond.
And finally Glen Ellis Falls north of Jackson in New Hampshire. I crawled out on the slippery wet stones and yellow and red leaves, while Jennifer passed on tripod and camera and lens, so I could get the falls from the right direction. And further down were a few more rapids with the stone boulders and the autumnal trees. Of all the images here, I think that is my favourite.
